I came from a small island where rhythm lives in the soil and its vibrant colours of nature fill the atmosphere. The Caribbean planted the seeds of faith, freedom, imagination, and experiences that helped to shape my early belief system. As I grew, I was faced with hardships, pain, and confusion that disrupted the very foundation that had granted me my identity. I was silenced along the way as the shock waves of culture paralysed my soul. Life began on a spiralling trajectory and moved me far from home, and with it came the ache of starting over in a city where everything was unfamiliar: the streets, the systems, even the silence.
As a woman of faith, a mother, and a survivor of domestic abuse, I’ve walked through storms that tried to silence me. For years, I carried unspoken stories, buried grief, and searched for understanding to unanswered questions — all while raising my children, supporting others and striving for more. I had to start over many times, as I failed in areas of my life. And yet, in the midst of it all, I found something sacred: creativity.
When I couldn’t speak, I wrote. When I felt invisible, I danced. When trauma made words too heavy, art became my language. Creativity didn’t just help me to survive; it became the lifeline to my healing, my voice when I had none, my power when I felt powerless.
Through my journey, I realized I wasn’t alone. So many women, especially those displaced, unheard, or carrying generational pain, needed a space to exhale, to be seen, to create without apology. That’s why I birthed UNBOXED Imagination.
This isn’t just a project. It’s a movement, a disruption, a call to R.I.S.E into the women and men of excellence that you were called to be — a healing space where artistic expression meets storytelling, where faith meets freedom, and where no one has to shrink to belong. Here, we unbox pain, creativity, joy, truth — all of it. And we do it together.
My mission is simple but powerful: to help others reclaim their voice, their story, and their imagination — not in spite of their journey, but because of it.
